Terms of Service

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and Volto (“Volto”, “we”, “us”). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Volto. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password confidential and secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and up-to-date registration information

Please notify us immediately at support@voltoapp.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

“User Content” means any surveys, questions, votes, reactions, chat messages, or other material you post, submit, or share through Volto.

• Ownership. You retain ownership of your User Content.
• License to Volto. By posting User Content, you grant Volto a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, display, distribute, and use your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
• Your representations. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to post your User Content and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or violent
• Impersonate any person, entity, or organization
• Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or any part of the Service
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or other tools to access or collect data from Volto without our written permission
• Upload profile photos or survey cover images containing nudity, explicit sexual content, or graphic violence
• Upload malware, viruses, or any other harmful software
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Use poll chat to harass, threaten, or send unsolicited sexual content to other users

We reserve the right to remove any content and to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these rules, without notice.

The Volto name, logo, design, software, and all content produced by Volto (excluding User Content) are owned by Volto or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Volto's intellectual property without our prior written consent.

Volto is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all users.

• Automated moderation. Profile photos and survey cover images you upload are automatically scanned for inappropriate content using Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch. Images flagged as containing nudity or graphic violence are removed immediately and never made public. You will be notified when this occurs.
• Poll chat. Each poll has a dedicated chat open to users who have voted on that poll. To reduce abuse, accounts must be at least 24 hours old to participate, and messages are rate-limited. You may delete your own messages at any time. Moderators may delete any message and ban accounts that violate these Terms.
• Reporting. You may report any account or content that violates these Terms using the in-app report feature. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
• Blocking. You may block any other user at any time from their profile. Blocking prevents the blocked user from seeing your content and prevents you from seeing theirs. Blocks can be removed at any time.
• Enforcement. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice.

Volto may offer optional paid features (“Volto Pro”). Purchases are processed by our payment provider. All sales are subject to the payment provider's terms. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. Survey results on Volto represent the opinions of users and do not constitute professional advice of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Volto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Volto in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Volto and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively through the courts of competent jurisdiction, unless you and Volto agree to an alternative dispute resolution process in writing.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For significant changes, we will provide notice via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The current version will always be available at voltoapp.com/terms.
